I love Sam Maloof's chairs-beautiful, organic looking pieces that seem to be carved from a single piece of wood. Let's have a go at building a low back armchair similar to Sam's.
I have built a mock-up chair out of pine to finalise the design and construction techniques. Now its time to build the "real" one! Bring out the black walnut.....

| Glue squeeze out removed and ready to be squared up. There is a little sapwood and a knot-these I have put on the bottom face. |
